Crack Down Against Visit Visa Holders In Saudi
Saudi Arabia’s Hajj security forces have arrested 42 foreign nationals holding visit visas for violating Hajj regulations. The individuals were found staying in an illegal building in Makkah’s Al-Hijrah area. Authorities confirmed that legal action is being taken against both the violators and those who provided them shelter. The case has been forwarded to the relevant judicial authorities for further penalties.
The Saudi Ministry of Interior had previously issued strict warnings against accommodating visit visa holders during the Hajj season. From the 1st to the 14th of Dhul-Hijjah, severe penalties apply to anyone found housing or facilitating the stay of unauthorized individuals in Makkah and the holy sites. This includes hotels, apartments, private residences, and pilgrim accommodations. Violators face fines of up to 100,000 Saudi riyals.
Saudi authorities have made it mandatory for all pilgrims to obtain an official Hajj permit. Anyone entering Makkah or the holy sites without a permit—or attempting to stay there illegally—will be fined 20,000 riyals. The government has implemented strict measures to prevent unauthorized pilgrims from participating in Hajj rituals, as they can cause overcrowding, security risks, and health hazards.
In addition to penalizing illegal pilgrims, Saudi authorities are also targeting those who assist them. This includes property owners who rent spaces to unauthorized pilgrims, transport operators who facilitate illegal movement to holy sites, and middlemen who arrange fake permits or shelter. Offenders may face heavy fines, deportation, or even imprisonment, depending on the severity of the violation.
Saudi Arabia maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward Hajj violations to ensure the safety and smooth operation of the pilgrimage. The government has increased security and monitoring to enforce compliance. These regulations are crucial for managing the millions of Muslims who visit Makkah during Hajj, ensuring an organized and spiritually fulfilling experience for all.
The recent arrests highlight the strict enforcement of Hajj rules. Authorities urge all pilgrims to follow official procedures and obtain the necessary permits to avoid legal consequences. By adhering to these regulations, pilgrims can contribute to a safe and orderly Hajj season.
