Exit and re-entry visas allow foreign residents holding an iqama (residence permit) to temporarily leave Saudi Arabia and return without losing their residency status. There are two types available: a single exit and re-entry visa costing 200 Saudi riyals and valid for two months (with an additional 100 riyals for each extra month), and a multiple exit and re-entry visa priced at 500 riyals for three months (plus 200 riyals for each additional month).
The clarification about non-refundable fees came in response to a resident’s inquiry about whether visa fees could be reclaimed if the permit was canceled. Jawazat confirmed that once payment is made, the fees cannot be refunded under any circumstances. This policy applies to all visa holders, whether they are professionals, domestic workers, or dependents.
For those already outside the Kingdom who need to extend their visas, different fees apply. The extension costs are doubled, with a single visa extension costing 200 riyals (valid for one month) and a multiple visa extension priced at 400 riyals (also valid for one month). This is particularly important for residents who may need to stay abroad longer than originally planned.
All visa-related processes, including cancellations and extensions, can be conveniently handled through the Absher digital platform. To cancel a visa, users need to log in to Absher, select “Services for Sponsors,” choose the relevant individual, and confirm the cancellation request. It’s important to remember that while the cancellation process is simple, the fees will not be returned.
For visa extensions while outside Saudi Arabia, the process varies slightly depending on the type of resident. Family members and domestic workers can use the “Family Member Services” or “Worker Services” sections on Absher, while employers can extend visas for their employees through Absher Business by selecting “My Business Services” and then “Visas.”
